4 years agoChicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel suffered a tough loss against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. With outfielder Jesse Winker starting the inning on second, Kimbrel worked a 2-1 count on outfielder Nick Castellanos. Kimbrel would then throw a wild pitch and that would advance Winker to third base. Manager David Ross elected to continue to pitch to Castellanos with no outs and first and second base open, but it didn't go as he planned and Castellanos would single up for the middle for the win. Kimbrel is not charged with an earned run during the outing, but will suffer his first loss of the season. Kimbrel will carry a 0.00 ERA into Monday's three game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
