7 years agoBoston Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel came into the ninth inning to make things interesting before ultimately closing the door on a 4-2 win over the Rays on Tuesday. He allowed a leadoff single and then proceeded to get the next two guys out. A double and a walk later and the bases were loaded after throwing 27 pitches. After taking Mallex Smith to a 2-2 count, Kimbrel stopped playing around and induced a grounder to secure the victory and his 14th save of the year. Despite an off night, he is still an elite closer.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
