Cristian Javier Dominates In Combined No-Hitter
2 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Cristian Javier had the game of his life on Saturday, throwing seven innings of no-hit ball against the formidable New York Yankees. He walked one and struck out an astounding 13 batters. The only reason he was taken out of this one after seven was because he threw a career-high 115 pitches. The 25-year-old is in the middle of what appears to be a breakout season, as he has posted a 3.07 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 68 K over 55 ⅔ IP. The advanced numbers back up Javier's terrific season, with a sparkling 3.15 xERA and 3.12 FIP. He needs to be rostered and started in all leagues, as he has cemented his spot in the Astros rotation.
