7 years agoJon Heyman of FanRag Sports suggests that the Chicago Cubs could be a landing spot for Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado. Heyman notes that the Phillies, Cardinals, White Sox, Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers and Diamondbacks, along with the Cubs, all contacted the Orioles this offseason about acquiring Machado. The Cubs have a weak farm system but can offer shortstop Addison Russell, who is cheap and controllable, along with prospects. It should be noted that the Orioles were asking for multiple starting pitchers this offseason and the Orioles would likely want Adbert Alzolay, the Cubs No. 1 pitching prospect, in any potential deal.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
