3 years agoThe Chicago Cubs reportedly could re-sign free-agent first baseman Anthony Rizzo on a short-term deal. According to Bruce Levine of the 670 The Score, Rizzo's return to the Cubs on a "short-term" deal is possible. "I've heard that's possible. I've heard that it's not out of the realm of giving a two or three-year contract, said Levine. "Cubs could sign Rizzo to a two-year, $40M contract with a third-year option." The 32-year-old played nine seasons with the Cubs before being traded to the New York Yankees during last year's MLB Trade Deadline. Rizzo slashed .248/.344/.440 with 22 homers, 61 RBI, and six stolen bases across 576 plate appearances with the Yankees/Cubs in 2021. Stay tuned for further updates.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
