3 years agoThe Chicago Cubs are signing free-agent left-hander Daniel Norris to an undisclosed major league deal, according to a source. The Milwaukee Brewers acquired Norris from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline last summer, but he struggled with the Brew Crew to the tune of a 6.64 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 20 1/3 innings in the second half. Overall, the 28-year-old had a 6.16 ERA and 1.49 WHIP while fanning 58 hitters and walking 30 in 57 relief innings for the Tigers and Brewers in 56 appearances. Norris began his career as a starter, but he hasn't been a full-time starter since 2019 and hasn't been very effective in a relief role in the last couple of years.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
