Curtis Samuel Could Practice Next Week
3 years agoWashington Football Team wide receiver Curtis Samuel (groin) could be returning to practice next week, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Samuel has been dealing with this nagging issue since minicamp in June and re-aggravated it prior to the season opener, leading to him being placed on injured reserve. "He's had a good, solid week. We'll see where he's at after Sunday," said Rivera. The return of the speedy wide receiver could take the Washington offense to the next level, as Taylor Heinicke looks like a solid starting option in the absence of Ryan Fitzpatrick. The 25-year-old could potentially slot into the role that Adam Humphries has been playing, who is coming off a game where he caught seven passes on eight targets. Samuel could have WR3 appeal upon his return to action, but it would be best to leave him out of fantasy lineups until his role has more clarity.
