Curtis Samuel Set For Big Role in 2021
3 years agoWashington Football Team wide receiver Curtis Samuel (groin) missed the entirety of the team's mandatory minicamp in early June. This is a situation to monitor. However, Samuel's injury is considered minor and he should be ready to go for training camp. Offensive coordinator Scott Turner said that Samuel "is an ascending player," as he has improved his numbers every year since entering the league. Turner has plans to use Samuel in all aspects of the game. "He can play all over the field, whether it's outside, inside, in the backfield, in motion. Those are going to be the things he does, which is everything," Turner said. Coming off career-highs in both receptions and receiving yards, Samuel has the look of a low-end WR2 or a strong WR3 heading into the 2021 campaign. Going into his fifth season, the speedy wideout will be relied upon more than ever.
