D.K. Metcalf Plans To Take Another Leap In Third Season
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf had a breakout season in his sophomore campaign, putting up 83 receptions, 1,303 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns. When asked about his goals for his third season, Metcalf replied "to be better than last year, that's always the goal." In what will be a different offensive scheme with new coordinator Shane Waldron calling the plays, Metcalf's usage could be a bit different than last year. There won't be as many deep passes, with more of an emphasis being placed on the short and intermediate passing game. "It gets the ball out of Russ' hands faster to his playmakers so we can break tackles and go score," Metcalf said. "I think it's been a pretty big emphasis that we didn't have last year. Adding that to our repertoire is going to be pretty big." Metcalf figures to have a similar target share, but a bump in efficiency could be on the horizon in the new Seattle offensive scheme. Metcalf is an elite WR1 in fantasy with top-5 upside at the position.
