2 years agoDallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said that quarterback Dak Prescott (thumb) is at least seven to 10 days away from doing anything. "He needs to heal right now," McCarthy said. Prescott fractured his right thumb in the season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and had surgery on Monday. The Cowboys aren't putting him on Injured Reserve, though, so they believe there's a chance he could return within the next four weeks. Initial reports suggested Prescott could be out for six to eight weeks. With the 29-year-old sidelined, the Cowboys are going to ride with backup Cooper Rush under center. The 28-year-old will be making just his second NFL start in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
