4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitcher Dakota Hudson was removed from his start Thursday against the Pirates due to tightness in his pitching elbow. Hudson worked two scoreless innings prior to his departure, lowering his ERA to 2.77 in the process. Unfortunately, tightness in the pitching elbow is not a recipe for a quick return to the mound, with Austin Gomber having taken over in his stead. Hudson, along with Adam Wainwright, has proven to be one of the consistent cogs of the Cardinals’ starting staff, so check back for an update as it pertains to his health once one is provided.--Jesse Borek
