Dallas Goedert Is Still Learning
6 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles rookie tight end Dallas Goedert had a "pretty good" debut versus the Atlanta Falcons, according to head coach Doug Pederson. However, there were some learning opportunities. The big 6-foot-5 South Dakota State product, who finished with one reception for four yards, had a chance to make a bigger impact. He almost scored on his first NFL target, but he wasn't able to get both feet down before landing out of bounds. Then early in the fourth, Goedert allowed Falcons safety Damontae Kazee to get into his body and dislodge the ball. Ultimately, linebacker Deion Jones came down with the ball and returned the interception 20 yards. Overall, the 2018 second-round draft choice showed a lot of promise in the opener and is expected to have a significant role by the end of the season.
