3 years agoDallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz signed his franchise tag on Monday. The two sides have until July 15 to work out a long-term extension. If they don't agree on an extension, Schultz will play the 2022 season under the one-year, $10.9 million tender. With Blake Jarwin no longer on the team, Schultz is the unquestioned No. 1 pass-catching tight end for Dallas, with Jeremy Sprinkle, Sean McKeon and Ian Bunting backing him up. In 33 games played the last two seasons, Schultz has made 29 starts and has caught 141 passes for 1,423 yards and 12 touchdowns.
