Dalvin Cook, Team Still Not Close On New Deal
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook and the team have had "productive talks" regarding a new deal but are reportedly not close to reaching an agreement. The 24-year-old, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, may command a significant increase in pay, potentially earning him more than Carolina Panthers back Christian McCaffrey, who will receive $16 million per season over the next four years after reaching a new deal this offseason. Cook was a top-five back from a fantasy perspective in 2019 but has battled injuries over the years. As long as he can remain healthy, he could have a prominent role in 2020 once again under new offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak, with the 58-year-old serving as an offensive advisor with the club last season.
