3 years agoHouston Texans running back Dameon Pierce won't be given an advantage heading into training camp. General manager Nick Caserio mentioned that Pierce will need to earn himself a role in the team's backfield. The Texans used the 107th pick to select Pierce out of Florida on draft day. He posted 790 yards and 16 touchdowns during the 2021 season with the Gators. The talent is certainly there, but the Texans are going to make Pierce work for his snaps. Marlon Mack appeared to be the favorite for lead back before draft day. At this point, it's uncertain what the Texans are planning to do.
