Damien Williams Will Serve As Lead Back On Sunday
3 years agoChicago Bears running back Damien Williams will serve as the team's No. 1 running back against the Raiders on Sunday afternoon. This increase in workload comes after David Montgomery (knee) was placed on injured reserve. The expectation is that Williams, who joined the Bears this offseason after six seasons split between Miami and Kansas City, will see roughly 15 carries while also receiving checkdown work. Last week, he posted 70 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on a mere 33 percent snap share. Fellow running back Khalil Herbert will get involved, but Williams still falls into the RB2 range given his matchup and expected usage.
