3 years agoFree-agent wide receiver Damiere Byrd is signing with the Atlanta Falcons on an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday, according to a source. The Falcons lost Russell Gage to free agency and Calvin Ridley to a one-year suspension, and they've replaced them with the likes of Byrd, Auden Tate and KhaDarel Hodge. Not exactly household receiving names. Olamide Zaccheaus also remains in the fold for a team that will now turn to quarterback Marcus Mariota as their starter under center. Byrd had his best season with the Patriots in 2020, but he still only had 604 receiving yards and one touchdown on 47 catches that year. The 29-year-old speedster should have a starting role in Atlanta, but fantasy managers shouldn't be expecting much in terms of consistent weekly production.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
