Dan Straily Could Be Returning to Marlins Soon
7 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Dan Straily (forearm) pitched 5 1/3 innings with three earned runs and six strikeouts in a win for Double-A Jacksonville on Tuesday. Following the game, Marlins beat reporter Joe Frisaro noted that it's likely Straily's next start comes at the major league level. Straily has been dealing with forearm inflammation and has yet to make his 2018 debut. Over the last two seasons, Straily has pitched to a 24-17 record with a 4.00 ERA and a 332/133 K/BB ratio. Straily is undoubtedly the best pitcher on the Marlins, but outside of strikeouts, he's never been dominant. While he'll make for an intriguing streaming target some nights, it'll come down to if the Marlins will be able to score enough runs to get him a win. If Straily can find his groove and his teammates back him up, the Marlins ace could be a sneaky pickup as the fourth or fifth starter in your rotation.
