4 years agoDetroit Lions  rookie running back D'Andre Swift is still in the concussion protocol as the team prepares to play early Thursday morning against the Texans on Thanksgiving. His availability could be a huge blow to a Lions team that is seeing its playoff hopes slip away. Swift has been fantastic over the past few weeks, displaying the type of versatile threat in the passing and running game that earned him praise in training camp. But as of now, the rookie is trending towards not playing, and it would be a shame with a favorable matchup in Week 12. The Texans have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing backs this season. Veteran Adrian Peterson will step up once again if Swift misses the game, but Peterson cannot be trusted to post RB2-type numbers despite the favorable tilt.
