Daniel Bard Earns His 16th Save Of The Season
3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Daniel Bard earned the save on Saturday when he allowed one run on two hits in the ninth inning of a 5-3 win over the Padres. Bard didn't have his best stuff on Saturday as he opened up the ninth inning by allowing a double to Jurickson Profar before letting Austin Nola single him in. He was able to wiggle his way out of the jam when he got Adam Frazier to ground into a game-ending double play that sealed the win for Colorado. He's now converted five of his last save opportunities but owns an underwhelming 4.43 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and 55:21 K/BB ratio over 42 2./3 innings.
