3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Daniel Bard earned the save on Sunday when he allowed one hit with two strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning in a 3-1 win over the San Diego Padres. Bard got two quick outs before allowing a single to Eric Hosmer in the bottom of the ninth inning. He then struck out Wil Myers looking to end the contest. Bard has converted his last four save chances and is up to 14 on the season. He owns a 4.06 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and 49:18 K/BB ratio over 37 2/3 innings on the season. His rate stats may not be pretty but he's the preferred closer in Colorado so he'll continue to carry some fantasy value for as long as he holds the job.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
