6 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Daniel Mengden turned in another solid start on Thursday, earning his sixth win of the season in a 7-3 game over the Rays. Mengden pitched eight innings, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts. He carried a shutout into the ninth inning but gave up two singles and a double without recording an out before turning things over to the bullpen. The 25-year-old now has a shiny 2.91 ERA with 48 strikeouts and just eight walks in 74 1/3 innings pitched this season. Mengden has been a consistent fantasy option for fantasy owners this season and is slated for a favorable matchup Wednesday against the Rangers, who are currently one of the worst offenses in the Majors.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
