6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Daniel Norris had one of his worst outings of the year in Saturday's 10-5 loss to Atlanta. Norris allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits, including two home runs, along with one walk and four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. He got off to an outstanding start in the game, setting down nine of the first 10 batters. However, things fell apart thereafter for the southpaw as he permitted two runs in each of the next three frames. The 26-year-old has seen his ERA increase nearly a full point over his last five starts, as he has allowed 31 hits (six homers) along with 20 runs (17 earned) in 28 2/3 innings. Norris is slated to garner his 10th start of the season on Thursday against the Rays at home, where he is holding opponents to a .245 batting average this season.--Daniel Benjamin
