Daniel Suarez Nearly Pulls Off Win At Fontana
3 years agoDaniel Suarez had it right there in the final laps of the Wise Power 400. Everything set up as he was in a prime position. In the end, Kyle Larson passed him once, then Suarez battled back to take the lead. Then Larson got incensed and took the lead at the end of lap 198. After that, Suarez and the No. 99 Chevy lost a lot of speed and throttle then dropped two more positions. Still, a fourth place result for the driver almost felt like a win. Give Suarez credit that he kept his car on the race track where a few others were not so lucky. He was one of those wildcard long shots that nearly pulled it off Sunday.
