Danny Amendola Rides Hot Postseason Into Super Bowl
7 years agoNew England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will have plenty of eyes on him in the Super Bowl after posting 18 receptions for 196 yards and two touchdowns during this season's playoffs. Amendola has replaced receiver Julian Edelman as quarterback Tom Brady's preferred target in the intermediate passing game, and Amendola has delivered. Health has always been an issue for the veteran receiver, but he has stayed on the field this season en route to 61 receptions for 659 yards. When the chips are down, Amendola has shown the ability in these playoffs to come down with big-time catches. He will go up against an Eagles secondary that allowed the 14th most fantasy points to opposing receivers during the regular season. The Patriots will try and get the ball out of Brady's hands quickly, and Amendola could benefit with a handful of early targets. He is a decent bet to lead the Patriots in receptions this Sunday and has the moxie to possibly add a touchdown catch in traffic.
