Danny Jansen Has Fracture In Left Hand
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen (finger) has been diagnosed with a fractured bone on his left hand near his pinkie finger. General manager Ross Atkins called it a "stable" break, so his recovery is expected to be on the shorter side for a fracture recovery. The Blue Jays are calling up catcher Zack Collins from Triple-A Buffalo to replace Jansen on the active roster. Jansen missed over a month already this year with a strained oblique, so he hasn't been able to stay on the field consistently. Alejandro Kirk, who is hitting .306/.389/.465 with an .854 OPS, five home runs and 16 RBI, will be the team's primary backstop moving forward. He's deserving of a pickup off the waiver wire if you're in need of help at the position.
