4 years agoChicago White Sox infielder Danny Mendick made his first career start in the outfield on Saturday and went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run. Mendick's home run was part of an eight run first inning that helped set up a long night for Royals pitchers. The utility man has been on and off of the roster this season and is hitting .350 with one home run and four RBI in 20 at-bats. Despite the nice game, Mendick doesn't get enough opportunities or offer much value to be looked at on the waiver wire.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
