Danny Santana Goes Yard For First Time In 2020
4 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Danny Santana built upon an encouraging Thursday performance to hit his first home run of the season on Friday. In a 7-4 loss to the Seattle Mariners, Santana took a 1-1 pitch off Mariners starter Nick Margevicius and sailed it 390 feet to the opposite field to cut Seattle's lead. Texas' utility man returned to the lineup last Sunday and now has six RBI in the six games since he came back. Santana popped 28 home runs and swiped 25 bags in 2019, and it seemed unlikely he would reproduce that kind of results this year. However, it is still encouraging to see him get back to hitting the long ball as he now has two extra-base hits in his last two games. The 29-year-old is worth keeping a stash if he was dropped while on the Injured List.
