Danny Santana Hit With PED Suspension
3 years agoFree-agent infielder/outfielder Danny Santana has been suspended by Major League Baseball for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, according to Britt Ghiroli. The ban will last 80 games. Santana had yet to sign with a club before the announcement after spending last season with the Boston Red Sox. In 38 games during 2021, the 31-year-old slashed .181/.252/.345 with five home runs and four stolen bases. Most of Santana's success came in 2019, when he hit .283 with an .857 OPS along with 21 steals over 130 games with the Texas Rangers. He was already being ignored in drafts, and this news further cements his irrelevance in fantasy baseball.
