3 years agoBoston Red Sox utility man Danny Santana (quad) was removed from Tuesday's contest in the seventh inning after coming up limping while running out a ground ball. He was replaced at first base by Bobby Dalbec. It appears to be a 50-50 chance that Santana will be placed on the injured list, but fellow utility man Marwin Gonzalez is also out Wednesday, so the Red Sox may be inclined to deactivate Santana to create roster flexibility. If he does indeed miss time, the prime candidates to earn a promotion to the big league club are Michael Chavis and Franchy Cordero, neither of whom would warrant fantasy consideration.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
