5 years agoIn the midst of a breakout campaign, former number-one overall draft pick Dansby Swanson was placed on the injured list on Saturday with a right foot contusion, retroactive to July 24. Swanson had already missed the Braves prior two games, initially hurting his foot when he banged it on a bag while running the bases Tuesday night in a loss against the Royals. The move comes as a surprise, as the injury was thought to be a minor hindrance that would require only a few days of rest. But enough pain apparently remained and now Swanson won't be eligible to return until August 2.
