Dansby Swanson Proves Season-Long Value Amid Hit Streak
4 years agoAtlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson has ebbed and flowed throughout the early part of 2020, but when he has flowed, he has collected hits in droves. Swanson has reeled off a hit in nine consecutive contests, having hit .429 with a 1.085 OPS in that span. After having begun the year near the bottom of the order, Swanson has become a staple near the top for Atlanta, set to hit between Ronald Acuna Jr. and Freddie Freeman moving forward. While Swanson has drawn few walks (3.7%), his .307 xBA ranks as above average, an indicator that he has been hitting the ball just as well as it appears that he has. He should be owned in nearly all but the slimmest formats in the short term as he faces an exploitable Phillies bullpen and a scuffling Red Sox staff all within the next week.
