6 years agoAtlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson (hand, wrist) returned to Atlanta on Wednesday to be examined by head team physician Dr. Gary Lourie. Swanson injured himself on a swing on Tuesday, and the Braves are concerned it could be a significant injury like a similar one that kept him out for around two weeks earlier this year. Although Swanson hasn't been a beast on offense for fantasy owners, he's had his moments and remains an important cog in this lineup entering the postseason. There's a chance he may not play again before the regular season ends on Sunday, and the Braves might have to soldier on into the playoffs without him, depending on the results of his MRI exam. Infielders Charlie Culberson and Johan Camargo could fill in at shortstop in the meantime.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
