Dante Pettis Listed As Top Receiver
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Dante Pettis is listed as the top receiver based off an unofficial team document. Despite swirling reports of his underperformance and lack of motivation during camp, the designation shouldn’t be surprising. Pettis emerged for 359 yards and four touchdowns in the final five games of 2018 and is a polished route runner. The Niners visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, who ranked third worst in DVOA against the pass last year. While he’ll battle with streaky receiver Marquise Goodwin and rookie Deebo Samuel for looks, he’s the clear-cut second option behind tight end George Kittle. With a total score projected around 50, Pettis is a solid WR2 heading into the season.
