Darnell Mooney Has Been Impressive

2 years agoThe Athletic's Kevin Fishbain writes that Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney has been the team's most impressive player in training camp. He was the No. 2 receiver last year behind Allen Robinson II, but this year he's the unquestioned No. 1, and there's a big drop-off to No. 2. Mooney has caught everything thrown his way, and his route-running is on a different level. He also has the best rapport with quarterback Justin Fields. The 24-year-old broke out in his second NFL season in 2021, going for 81 receptions on 140 targets for 1,055 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games played. He'll surely see a lot of double-teams this year unless another receiver steps up, but for the target volume alone, Mooney should be a low-end WR2/high-end WR3 in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
