Darrell Henderson Jr. Sees Seven Touches In Super Bowl
3 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. made his first appearance since Week 16 in the 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday. Henderson served as the No. 2 back behind Cam Akers, carrying the ball four times for just seven yards and catching three of his five targets for 43 yards. The Rams could get nothing going on the ground against Cincy, but Henderson proved to be an effective pass-catcher out of the backfield, especially after Odell Beckham Jr.'s (knee) injury. The 24-year-old was the team's lead back for much of the year after Akers tore his Achilles in training camp, but Henderson played in only 12 games due to injuries and will be more of a change-of-pace/handcuff for Akers heading into next season. Henderson finished with 688 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 149 carries in the regular season, adding 29 receptions for 176 yards and three more scores on 40 targets.
