2 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. has returned to practice after missing some time with a "soft-tissue" injury this summer. Henderson's expected workload this season is up in the air. Last season, the 25-year-old rushed for 688 yards on 149 carries and scored eight total touchdowns, starting while Cam Akers was injured. Then Henderson himself tore his MCL in Week 15 just before Akers returned, so there is not much evidence to go on as to how head coach Sean McVay might split the carries with both backs healthy. Akers is the No. 1 RB in the high-octane, pass-first Rams offense, but McVay has talked about the need to run the ball more. "Whether it's Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson, feel really good about those guys," McVay said in an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio. Henderson might end up being effective as a flex later in the season, but going up against a strong Bills defense with his role in the offense unknown, he is a risky option in Week 1.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBaller
