Darrynton Evans Should Serve As Third-Down Back
5 years agoThe Tennessee Titans spent a third-round pick on Appalachian State running back Darrynton Evans in the 2020 NFL Draft despite the team having a workhorse lead back already in Derrick Henry. But Evans should be on the field in 2020, says John Glennon of The Athletic, who expects Evans to serve a change-of-pace role for the team and hopefully come into the game on third downs to catch passes. However, Glennon noted that Evans didn't have a ton of pass-game usage in college. The explosive young back should end up with a role that looks similar to the one that Dion Lewis had over the past few years, though potential fantasy owners will hope he looks more like the 2018 version of Lewis -- who had 917 scrimmage yards -- than the 2019 edition when Lewis saw his touches cut tremendously and had just 373 scrimmage yards.
