Darwin Thompson Has A Big Day
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs running back Darwin Thompson took advantage of his expanded role in Week 17 versus the Los Angeles Chargers. Thompson saw all but three of the Chiefs carries on Sunday and was the only running back on the field for the top seeded Chiefs. With the Chiefs resting most of their starters, Thompson was able to pick up 45 yards on 14 carries for a touchdown and he caught all seven of his targets for 65 yards and a touchdown. Thompson is unlikely to have a big role in the playoffs for the Chiefs, but it was still a positive sign for his overall value moving forward. With Le'Veon Bell set to become a free agent, Thompson will compete with Darrel Williams to backup Clyde Edwards-Helaire in 2021.
