Daulton Jefferies Earns Win In 2021 Debut
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Daulton Jefferies allowed three runs across five innings to pick up the victory over the Angels on Sunday. Jefferies was making his first start of the season, and his first with fans in attendance as his only prior MLB game was in the 2020 season. Jefferies was on the ropes early as he allowed the Halos to plate three by the end of the second inning. He settled in after that, retiring eight of the last ten batters he faced. Jefferies, the number four prospect for Oakland, is not guaranteed another start with manager Bob Melvin saying that will depend on how fast James Kaprielian (shoulder) can return. Jefferies is an intriguing add in keeper leagues and has streamer appeal if he does get another start next week.
