4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher/outfielder Daulton Varsho will make his first Major League start in center field Tuesday against the Dodgers. Arizona has an opening after dealing Starling Marte to Miami during the Trade Deadline on Monday. Varsho, Arizona’s No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has moved all around the diamond this season, but is still waiting for his bat to heat up after slashing .160/.276/.240 through his first 15 games. His positional flexibility makes him an appealing season-long commodity moving forward, as he’s likely to see everyday at-bats during September for a club that is on the outside looking in of the playoff picture.--Jesse Borek
