3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher/outfielder Daulton Varsho is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Washington Nationals. It will be just Varsho's second game on the bench this season. The 25-year-old catcher/outfielder is hitting just .184 in his first 12 games through 47 plate appearances, but he homered on Tuesday and Wednesday and has three home runs and five RBI. Varsho is striking out 29.8% of the time in the early going, but his power from the left side of the plate is valuable at the weakest position in fantasy. With Varsho out on Thursday, Jake McCarthy is getting the nod in center field and will bat eighth against Nationals left-hander Josh Rogers. McCarthy has two singles in 17 at-bats to begin the season and is a poor DFS choice.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
