2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher Daulton Varsho is out of the starting lineup on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, while outfielder Jordan Luplow (foot) will return. Varsho is hitting a respectable .249/.325/.445 with eight home runs, 22 RBI, 27 runs scored and three stolen bases on the year, but he's gone 1-for-14 with four strikeouts in his last four games and could use a day off. Jose Herrera is doing the catching and is batting ninth on Saturday against Pirates right-hander Roansy Contreras. Luplow fouled a ball off his left foot on May 27 and pinch hit on Tuesday, but he's back in the lineup as the designated hitter and will bat sixth. Luplow does have six home runs in 65 at-bats, but he's also hitting .169.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
