David Bote Hits First Home Run Of 2021
4 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman David Bote went 1-for-3 with a solo home run on Monday versus the Milwaukee Brewers. Bote hit the solo shot as part of back-to-back home runs with shortstop Javier Baez in the bottom of the fourth inning versus Brett Anderson. Bote won the second base job with a nice spring, but was outperformed by prospect Nico Hoerner. Hoerner was sent down to get more seasoning, but Bote only has one hit in the short season and it shouldn't be too long before Hoerner is back in the majors. Bote can be avoided in all formats for now.
