David Bote Leaves With Sore Shoulder
2 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman David Bote (shoulder) left Thursday's game early after colliding with Nico Hoerner in the infield during the fourth inning of the club's 15-7 win. The team labeled the injury as left shoulder soreness, but it is also the same shoulder that he had surgery on in the offseason that subsequently kept him off the MLB roster until last week. Bote was 4-for-14 with four runs through five games before going down on Thursday evening after a disappointing 2021 campaign, where he hit just .199 in 97 games. The 29-year-old will undergo tests in the next 24 hours to determine the severity of the injury, so a trip to the injured list is undoubtedly in play.
