4 years agoChicago Cubs infielder David Bote will draw the start at second base for Game 2 of Friday’s wild-card series versus Miami over veteran left-handed bat Jason Kipnis. With hard-throwing rookie right-hander Sixto Sanchez on the hill for the Marlins, Bote will hold down the keystone, having delivered reverse splits this year with an .801 vs. RHP and a .527 OPS vs. LHP. At his price tag, Bote is an upside selection. There were no changes from the starting nine that Chicago revealed Thursday prior to the rainout.--Jesse Borek
