4 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman David Bote went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBI in Saturday's victory versus the Atlanta Braves. Despite the nice performance on Saturday, Bote is only hitting .156 with two home runs and six RBI. Bote beat out veteran Eric Sogard and prospect Nico Hoerner for the second base job this spring, but Hoerner had a very impressive spring and is likely to be called up soon if Bote continues to struggle. He has also been platooning with Sogard. Bote should be avoided in all formats at the moment, but managers will want to keep an eye on Hoerner in deeper leagues if he gets called up and steals Bote's job.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
