David Dahl Fighting For Left Field Spot
7 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder David Dahl went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and a walk in three plate appearances in the 8-7 win against the Seattle Mariners. Dahl has been finding his game lately in spring training, as he has increased his batting average from .148 to .205 in the span of one week and has recently inserted himself back into the starting outfielder conversation. Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post believes that the left field spot is between Dahl, Ian Desmond and Mike Tauchman. For comparison, Desmond currently has a batting average of .078 and has been awful this spring, while Tauchman has a batting average of .296 and has been quite the pleasant surprise for the Rockies. Charlie Blackmon will most likely go back to the leadoff spot, but Dahl provides upside in steals and hits, provided he can stay healthy. Keep an eye on how the Rockies outfield situation pans out before making any decisions.
