David Fletcher Cleared To Play Catch
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman David Fletcher (hips) visited a hip specialist in Philadelphia on June 2 and was cleared to start playing catch on June 4 after he underwent surgery to fix both his right and left adductor muscles on May 10. Currently on the 60-day injured list, Fletcher is optimistic he could return by early-to-mid July. That might be quite optimistic, but the 28-year-old appears to be making some progress. He was hitting just .158/.220/.263 with no homers and two RBI in his first 38 at-bats of the season. Fletcher isn't a must-stash in mixed fantasy leagues, and his hips could give him problems the rest of the season. Luis Rengifo has been seeing regular playing time at second base for the Halos.
