3 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman David Fletcher will try and extend his hit streak to six games Tuesday against the Royals. Fletcher has begun to hit the ball with more consistency and is 17-for-48 (.354) over his last 15 games with 10 runs scored. Fletcher will never be mistaken for a power hitter but is 7-for-18 (.388) during his current five-game hitting streak. The Angels have pegged veteran Justin Upton as their leadoff hitter of the moment but his current hot streak could benefit Fletcher's run-scoring ability from the bottom of the order.
